Open Mic
A more casual way to experience The People Tree, whether you want to try a story out loud or simply sit and listen.
Open Mic gives people a place to bring something they have been thinking about, a moment they have never said out loud, or a story they are still shaping. Some storytellers are trying something for the first time. Others are working on a story they may eventually bring to the main stage.
There is no audition and no requirement to sign up in advance. If you want to tell something, put your name in when you arrive. If you would rather listen, that is just as welcome, and it is how many of our storytellers spent their first night with us.
Stories are short, the atmosphere is relaxed, and nobody is expected to be polished. What matters is that you are sharing something true and that the room is there to listen.
Open Mic is a chance to hear how a story changes when it leaves your head and reaches someone else.
